A Year in Travel

A Year in Travel

For many 2008 was a year of wandering the planet - we received this fabulous series of images from one such fortunate soul.  Aspiring travel photographer and writer Shannyn Higgins has made her way through varying parts of Australia, South East Asia, Europe, and Latin America and captured these stunning reminders.

“2008 had two fundamental goals for me…

Get back on the road and find the feeling that comes from complete freedom with an unknown road ahead and nothing but your backpack and ticket in your hand… And to spin around, turn left instead of right, laugh spontaneously, give generously – even if it’s just a passing smile and to meet people and witness the world with fresh eyes again…

Out of the thousands of photo’s that have been taken while searching for that infinite feeling of finding beauty in this world, here’s is a snapshot of the moment that still hold powerful ground…” - Shannyn Higgins

We had fun searching through these images and picked the following all for different reasons from color to the mood they reflected.  Let’s hope that 2009 continues to be a year of travel for many of us despite the economic downturn and general uncertainty within the world.
